This position helps students and families understand financial aid, complete required documentation, determine eligibility, and access available funding for their education.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Counsel students and families about financial aid options
- Help students complete financial aid forms
- Assist with FAFSA and other required documentation
- Evaluate and process financial aid applications
- Determine eligibility for grants, scholarships, loans, and work-study
- Review documentation for accuracy and compliance
- Maintain accurate student records
- Perform data entry
- Prepare required reports
- Help students understand budgeting and loan repayment
- Conduct financial aid entrance and exit interviews
- Work with other departments to support students
WHAT THEY’RE LOOKING FOR:
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1 year of financial aid experience
- At least 1 year of data entry experience
- Professional customer service experience
- Microsoft Office skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work with confidential information
- Strong organization and problem-solving skills
PREFERRED:
- Associate degree in a relevant field
- Higher education experience
- Knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations
- Experience with financial aid systems such as Anthology or PowerFAIDS
